This summer, much of North Natomas was saddened to hear about the theft of a couple bicycles from youths who received them through 50 Bikes for 50 Kids 2015.
We're pleased to share that Mayor Pro Tem Angelique Ashby rallied to have them replaced! The North Natomas TMA held a mini-rebuild session for the students, and volunteers jumped right back in to help. Aidan Connelly, Brett Rowett, and Lillian Rowett of the Heritage Park Bike Club reprised their volunteer bike builder roles to assist with the re-build.
John Buchanan at the Natomas Bike Shop arranged for a great deal on the cost of the bikes. The shop also sent bike mechanic Scott Meyer to oversee the bike building process and provide the final check to make sure the bikes were safe to ride.
Having something stolen is disheartening, but having a terrific community is awesome!
